Inspired by Algorand’s carbon negative approach, The Al Goanna Project created an NFT series that also gave back to the environment, resulting in the planting of over 40,000 Trees and counting. To continue the projects legacy, the owners of Gilbert the Goanna, Arul and Kavitha have worked with project founder Benji to continue the projects legacy and expand the tree planting efforts to multiple continents.
Al Goanna has recently established a managed tree-planting fund that generates money to continually fund tree planting efforts in a sustainable way. The fund is targeting 1 million algorand raised and will distribute the earnings from the investment of those funds plus 5% of the principal to their tree planting efforts each quarter.
